Hi There,
Welcome to Cragin Creations and Thank You for stopping by.
Let me tell you a little bit about who I am and how I got started cutting. As a young girl I always have loved being outside running and playing in the woods next to our old house. I love nature and being in nature. Being able to create something beautiful from what nature has provided us, to me, means that it won't go into the trash; yet.
I started cutting wood back in my 20's (over 30 years ago) after I had been taking some local Tole Painting classes and the teacher said that she cuts her own wood from her scroll saw. Well that intrigued me because I had never heard of a woman that cut her own wood. I'm totally about women can do what men can do and had always been taught that that sort of thing was what a man did. I also love to empower women and push them to be out of their comfort zone when it comes to things I know they can do if they just try. So, me being who I am, wanted so badly to be that person to cut my own wood projects I started looking for a used scroll saw at yard sales and finally found one. This saw was the only one I had for many many years as I was a single mother and couldn't afford to add to my collection at that time. So I made due with it for quite some time. After a while, I was able to start adding to my addiction, because after so many years it had come to be an addiction. I love the smell of fresh cut wood. I also love the many things we can make from cut wood creations. So I next got myself a battery operated drill with drill bits (so that I could fix things in the house easier) and it grew and grew from there as I had the money to add to my addiction/collection. I now have 9 different machines that do different things for different reasons when I need them, but I do have my favorites.
I hope you enjoy looking around on this site and that you find what you are looking for. As always, if you don't see what you're looking for or you have suggestions of what I can cut out next for you, please fill out the Contact form and let me know!
Thanks for Reading, **Robin**
